Vivo S20 Series Expected to Launch This Month with 6,500mAh Battery and Ultra-Thin Design

Vivo is reportedly gearing up to launch its latest S20 series this month in China, according to a recent leak by tipster Smart Pikachu. Following the success of the S19 series, the S20 lineup is expected to bring notable upgrades, particularly in battery capacity, design, and processing power. For fans of the brand’s mid-range offerings, this could offer an exciting glimpse at what might later be released globally as the Vivo V50 series, albeit with minor modifications.

Anticipated Launch Timeline and Specs

A November release for the Vivo S20 and S20 Pro is anticipated, positioning the series as a feature-rich addition to the brand's S lineup. The standard S20 is expected to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while the S20 Pro will likely upgrade to MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset.

Vivo S20 Series Could Arrive This Month with Massive 6,500mAh Battery

This blend of processors across the lineup reflects Vivo’s strategy to cater to different user needs, with the S20 aiming at mid-range affordability and the Pro model offering enhanced processing for more demanding tasks.

Bigger Batteries, Thin Design, and AMOLED Displays

One of the most talked-about features of the S20 series is its battery capacity. Both models are rumored to pack a massive 6,500mAh battery, a notable increase from the S19 series. The challenge here has been to maintain the ultra-thin profile Vivo’s S series is known for, with the S20 expected to come in at under 8mm in thickness.

Both models are expected to feature AMOLED displays with a 1.5K resolution (2800 x 1260 pixels), delivering sharp visuals and vibrant colors. Reports suggest that the S20 will come with a flat display, while the S20 Pro will offer a curved-edge screen, enhancing the immersive viewing experience.

Camera Features and Design Elements

Camera configurations are another point of distinction between the two models. The S20 is expected to house a dual-camera setup, likely featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor alongside an 8-megapixel secondary lens. In contrast, the S20 Pro is speculated to include a more advanced triple-camera system with a telephoto option for better zoom capabilities. Additionally, the S20 series is expected to include premium features such as an IR blaster and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Recently, a device identified as the Vivo V2429A, which could be the upcoming S20, was certified in China, lending credibility to these leaked specs. This certification listed impressive details: a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, up to 16GB of RAM, and storage reaching 1TB, plus fast charging support of up to 90W.

Global Implications for the Vivo V50 Series

For international customers, the Vivo S20 series often hints at what will appear in the Vivo V lineup for global markets. The Vivo V50 series, anticipated in early 2025, is expected to share many core specs with the S20, though typically with minor adjustments to meet specific market demands.
