Vivo officials seem to have been quite busy in the past couple of days. Well, we all know why. Vivo is going to announce a new smartphone dubbed as Vivo X20 in the market soon. Therefore the company has been putting up many teasers in the form of images and videos just ahead of the official launch.
And just recently, the company through its teasers confirmed the launch date of Vivo X20. While we were expecting more teasers from the company as it is trying to build the hype around its device, today's case kind of surprised us. Vivo just confirmed that there will also be a new variant of X20 and that it will be named as Vivo X20 Mars Edition.
The company has posted several teasers of the new variant and from analyzing it looks like the Mars Edition variant will come in special, all-black color. The teaser also provides a clearer look at how the device has been designed. The teaser does confirm previous rumors of the smartphone having very thin bezels at sides and narrow bezels at top and bottom.
But unfortunately, apart from what we can see in the teaser images, the company has not provided any information on how this new variant will be different from the standard X20. We are assuming most of the features and specifications will be the same as the normal X20 smartphone.
Meanwhile, as per the leaks and rumors, Vivo X20 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch full-HD 1080p display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC which is clocked at 2.2GHz. The processor could be paired with Adreno 512 GPU to handle graphical intensive tasks. Vivo X20 is likely to come with 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The handset is going to be backed by 3500mAh batteries and run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the company's customized skin Funtouch OS on top. Talking about the cameras, Vivo X20 is expected to come with 24-megapixel front cameras just as we have seen in Vivo V7+. Vivo might incorporate a dual-lens camera setup on the rear as well.
However, Vivo is also expected to launch a Plus variant of the same device Vivo X20 Plus with almost the same specs but this variant could have a bigger display.
In any case, all the official details about the upcoming smartphone will be revealed in the coming days. Mars Edition will debut alongside the standard X20 on September 21.
