Vivo V80 India Launch Officially Teased: Orange Colour and Triple Zeiss Cameras Confirmed

Vivo is preparing to expand its V-series smartphone lineup in India with the Vivo V80. The company has officially teased the upcoming smartphone, giving us an early look at its design while highlighting its focus on mobile photography. The Vivo V80 will succeed the Vivo V70 and is expected to bring upgrades to the camera system, battery and software.

Vivo V80 Expected Price and Availability

Vivo has not yet revealed the Vivo V80 launch date or price in India. The company's India website currently lists the smartphone with a "Coming Soon" tag, while official teasers have confirmed that it is headed to the country.

Vivo V80 Launch in India Confirmed: What to Expect

Recent leaks suggest that the Vivo V80 could launch in India during the first week of October. However, this timeline has not been confirmed by Vivo.

The Vivo V80 is expected to sit in a similar segment as its predecessor. For reference, the Vivo V70 launched in India at Rs 49,999 for the base configuration. This suggests that the Vivo V80 price in India could surpass INR 50,000.

Vivo V80 Expected Specifications and Features

The official teaser shows the Vivo V80 in an orange colour option, with a design that continues the V-series styling. The rear panel appears to house a triple-camera setup and LED flash, while Vivo has confirmed a Zeiss-branded camera system. The teaser also positions the phone as a photography-focused "creative partner."

According to recent leaks, the Vivo V80 could feature a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom. The primary and ultrawide cameras are yet to be detailed.

The biggest upgrade could come in the battery department. The Vivo V80 is tipped to pack a 7,200mAh battery, which would be a significant increase over the 6,500mAh battery found on the V70.

On the software front, the smartphone is expected to ship with Android 17, topped with Vivo's OriginOS 7. Other specifications, including the processor, display, charging capabilities and RAM/storage configurations, are yet to be confirmed.

For comparison, the Vivo V70 features a 6.59-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, along with 90W charging and IP68/IP69 ratings. Its Zeiss-tuned camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, 50-megapixel telephoto sensor and 8-megapixel ultrawide camera.
