Vivo X Fold 2 Battery Details Leaked

The Vivo X Fold 2, the brand's newest foldable phone, is rumored to debut in April this year. Ahead of the launch, Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked the device's battery and charging details. The tipster adds that the X Fold 2 could be the first foldable smartphone to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Vivo X Fold 2 to Get Bigger Battery
The upcoming Vivo X Fold 2 is tipped to get an upgrade over its predecessors with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. According to the latest leak, the device will get a slightly bigger 4,800mAh dual-cell battery. Meanwhile, the charging capacity gets a huge bump with 120W fast charging.
In comparison, last year's Vivo X Fold is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It also packs a 4,600mAh dual-cell battery with support for 66W fast charging. A few months later, the brand announced the Vivo X Fold+, an upgraded version of the foldable. The X Fold+ comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and a heftier 4,730mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
Vivo X Fold 2 Rumored Specifications
To recap older rumors, the Vivo X Fold 2 is expected to feature a 2K AMOLED foldable display. Both the outer cover display and the inner foldable screen are said to come with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. The device is said to be thin and lightweight, so we can expect it to be lighter than the Vivo X Fold+, which weighs around 311 grams.
For imaging, the X Fold 2 will be equipped with a Sony IMX866 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support. Since the Vivo X Fold included a quad-camera setup, the X Fold 2 might follow suit with four cameras adorning the rear.
Although Vivo hasn't revealed the Vivo X fold 2's launch date, it is rumored that the foldable will debut in April this year. We can expect more details to surface in the coming weeks ahead of the purported launch.
