Vivo X Fold 3 India Launch in the Cards: Will be the Country’s Slimmest, Lightest Foldable Smartphone
The Vivo X Fold 3 series was recently unveiled in China. The line-up included the Vivo X Fold 3 and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. While reports are suggesting that the Vivo X Fold 3 series will make its debut globally, a new report hints at a possible launch in India.
According to 91mobiles, the vanilla Vivo X Fold 3 is also set to make its debut in India. The news comes from an "industry source" and if accurate will make the Vivo X Fold 3 the company first foldable to be released in the Indian market.

Vivo X Fold 3 India Launch in the Cards
As of now, there is no official date for the Vivo X Fold 3's launch in the country but we believe one could be revealed soon. Additionally, the report doesn't make any mention of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro's launch in India.
This suggests that Vivo is aiming to offer Indian audiences a more affordable path to the foldable smartphone experience, unlike Samsung and OnePlus (OnePlus Open Review). Moreover, the Vivo X Fold 3 will also debut as India's lightest foldable smartphone, weighing 219 grams, less than the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
To recall, the X Fold 3 made its debut in China as the slimmest folding smartphone in the world. We can expect more details about the Vivo X Fold 3's launch in India next month. Vivo X Fold 3 Specifications
The vanilla X Fold 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Moreover, the foldable has a 5,500 mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support. It will run Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 in India.

Vivo's latest foldable smartphone sports a main 8.03-inch 8T LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. The panel boasts an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and a 4:3.55 aspect ratio. The screen supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision formats as well as a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.
On the outside, there's a 6.53-inch 8T LTPO OLED cover display with a resolution of 2748 x 1172 pixels. The panel boasts a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, and a 21.1:9 aspect ratio. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support is also present on the cover screen.
For optics, the Vivo X Fold 3 opts for a 50 MP Sony IMX920 primary sensor with an f/1.75 aperture and OIS support. The main camera is paired with a 50 MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide sensor and a 50 MP Sony IMX816 portrait sensor with a 50mm FOV and an f/1.85 aperture.
The cameras on the Vivo X Fold 3 were co-developed with ZEISS. The phone also comes with a custom V3 ISP. Lastly, the foldable smartphone has a 32 MP selfie camera on each of the displays with an f/2.4 aperture. The Vivo X Fold 3 is offered in Black and White color options.
