Vivo X100 Series Launched with MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, Zeiss Optics, IP68 Rating

Vivo has officially unveiled its next-gen flagship smartphones in China. The Vivo X100 series includes two smartphones - Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro. However, contrary to the rumors, there was no word on the Vivo X100 Pro+.

The Vivo X100 series arrives with the latest flagship MediaTek chipset, LTPO AMOLED displays, super-fast charging, an IP68 rating, and Zeiss-backed cameras. Let's take an in-depth look at the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro.

Vivo X100 Price

The Vivo X100 price starts from CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs 46,500) for the base 12GB/256GB model. The handset is offered in Sunset Orange, Star Trail Blue, Chen Yehei (Black), and Bai Yueguang (White) color options.

The Vivo X100 is also offered in 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB variants that will set you back CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs 50,000), CNY 4,599 (roughly Rs 53,500), and CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs 58,150), respectively. Additionally, there's a 16GB/1TB limited edition model with LPDDR5T RAM for CNY 5,099 (roughly Rs 59,300).

Vivo X100 Pro Price

The Vivo X100 Pro price starts from CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs 58,150) for the base 12GB/256GB model. The flagship smartphone is offered in Sunset Orange, Star Trail Blue, Chen Yehei (Black), and Bai Yueguang (White) color options.

The Vivo X100 Pro is also offered in 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB variants that will set you back CNY 5,299 (roughly Rs 61,650), CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs 63,950), and CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs 69,800), respectively.

Vivo X100 Series Availability

The Vivo X100 series will go on sale in China from November 21, although international availability and pricing is yet to be announced. We expect the Vivo X100 series launch in India to take place in the first quarter of 2024.

Vivo X100 Specifications

The Vivo X100 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. However, a limited edition Vivo X100 model will also be offered with 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Vivo X100 runs on Android 14-based OriginOS 4.0 out of the box.

The Vivo X100 sports a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels. The panel boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz high frequency dimming. The screen features a pixel density of 452 PPI and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

For optics, the Vivo X100 features a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP Sony IMX920 primary sensor with a 1/1.49" sensor size, an f/1.57 aperture, and OIS support. Vivo calls it the VCS Bionic main camera. The other two sensors include a 50 MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.0 aperture and a 64 MP telephoto unit with an f/2.57 aperture, OIS support, and 100x Zeiss Ultra-Clear Zoom.

The phone is also equipped with the V2 imaging chip from the Vivo X90 series for improved image processing. Up front, the Vivo X100 opts for a 32 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The Vivo X100 packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging support.

Vivo X100 Pro Specifications

The Vivo X100 Pro features the same software, display, and MediaTek chip as the vanilla Vivo X100. However, the 'Pro' model doesn't come with the LPDDR5T RAM option. Additionally, the Vivo X100 Pro packs a larger 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support. The Vivo X100 Pro also opts for the same 32 MP selfie camera as the vanilla model.

Moreover, the Vivo X100 also comes with an independent V3 display chip for enhanced imaging and gaming capabilities. The Vivo X100 Pro also gets cameras upgrades with a larger 50 MP Sony IMX989 1-inch type primary sensor. The main camera features an f/1.75 aperture and OIS support. It does retain the same 50 MP ultrawide lens as the Vivo X100.

However, the 64 MP telephoto unit is replaced by a 50 MP telephoto shooter, which debuts as the world's first mobile telephoto lens certified by Zeiss APO. This new floating telephoto-periscope lens features an f/2.5 aperture, a 1/2" sensor size, and OIS support. The Vivo X100 Pro's V3 chip handles 4K movie portrait video recording and processing.

The Vivo X100 series also features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Wireless connectivity options include 5G, 4G, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
