Vivo X300, X300 Pro to Feature Zeiss Teleconverter With Up to 800mm Reach
Vivo is putting camera flexibility at the center of its upcoming flagship phones. The company has confirmed that both the X300 and X300 Pro will work with the Zeiss 2.35x teleconverter, an accessory that made its debut with the X200 Ultra. It’s designed to extend zoom capabilities while also doubling as a stylistic add-on, this time showing up in a silver finish.

A Teleconverter That Goes Beyond Zoom
The Zeiss teleconverter isn’t limited to just telephoto shots. Vivo says it’ll support different modes like portraits, landscapes, and even candid snapshots. At the core of this setup is a 200MP telephoto lens, which gives the series a foundation for long-range photography.

Han Boxiao, a Vivo product manager, recently shared camera samples showing the teleconverter at work—shots taken at 200mm, 400mm, and even 800mm. The goal is clear: give users more reach without relying on digital zoom tricks.
Keeping Things Steady
Zooming in that far usually makes stabilization a challenge. Vivo is addressing that by leaning on high CIPA ratings. The Pro model carries a 5.5 score, while the standard X300 sits at 4.5. On paper, that should translate to less motion blur, even with the teleconverter mounted. The design itself is tuned for the X300 series, which is different from some periscope-style setups where stabilization weakens once you add an external lens.
Not Just for the Pro Version
What’s different this time is that support isn’t locked to the higher-end model. The Zeiss teleconverter will also work with the standard X300, giving the whole lineup access to the same accessory. Vivo is offering it in two colorways to better match the phones’ finishes, and the teleconverter mode now includes snapshot and portrait options, making it more versatile than before.
What’s Next
The phones themselves will go official on October 13, and we’ll likely learn more about pricing and availability then. For now, Vivo’s camera partnership with Zeiss and its focus on stabilization suggest that long-range imaging is still a priority feature in its flagship playbook.
