Vivo Xplay7 could be the first phone to feature 10GB RAM, 512GB storage

Vivo has lately been making a lot of buzz in the smartphone world, especially after launching the world's first commercial smartphone (Vivo X20 Plus UD) with an under-screen fingerprint scanner. Now, fresh leaks suggest that the Chinese manufacturer is currently working on its upcoming flagship; the Vivo Xplay7. The leaks come in form of Weibo posts, which also reveals some of the key specifications of the smartphone.

Looking at the specs, it can be said that the Vivo Xplay7 will be one of the best flagships of 2018. The phone's predecessor Vivo Xplay6 was launched back in 2016 and it was considered a decent flagship. However, if the information in recent leaks turns out to be legit, then Vivo would give other biggies (Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi) a run for their money.

According to the leaks, the Vivo Xplay7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC. This means, after the Xplay6, it will Vivo's only phone to feature a flagship processor from Qualcomm.

The most highlighted part of the Xplay7, however, is its alleged RAM configuration. The smartphone is said to pack a whopping amount of 10GB RAM, coupled with either 256GB or 512GB internal storage. It is also worth noting, no smartphone has been shipped with this amount of onboard storage space so far.

Other from that, the Vivo Xplay7 is also expected to sport a 6-inch OLED display with 4K resolution. Considering the high resolution, we assume the display will carry the traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. In the optics department, the smartphone is likely to feature a dual rear camera setup with 4X optical zoom.

What's more, the smartphone is believed to come with an under-screen fingerprint scanner just like the one we saw on the Vivo X20 Plus UD. As yet, there is no information on the Vivo Xplay7's price and availability.

While the specifications of Vivo's upcoming flagship seem very impressive, the authenticity of these leaks is questionable. In fact, the RAM and internal storage capacity sound too good to be true. Further, Weibo leaks often turn out to be false later. So it is better that you take the information with a pinch of salt or two. And if the leaks are legit, then we will soon get to a see a perfect flagship smartphone of our dreams.
