Vivo Y31 5G Tipped to Launch in India Soon: Here’s What We Know
Vivo could be gearing up to bring back one of its older Y-series models, this time with 5G support. A new report suggests that the Vivo Y31 5G may launch in India soon, although the company hasn’t made anything official yet.
For context, the original Vivo Y31 (4G) was launched back in January 2021, priced at ₹16,490. That version came with a Snapdragon 662 chip, a triple camera setup, and a large battery—making it a decent mid-range pick for the time.

What the Leak Suggests
According to PassionateGeekz, the Vivo Y31 5G could hit the Indian market shortly, likely as a budget 5G offering. That would position it somewhere around the ₹15,000–₹18,000 range, considering the original Y31’s price and Vivo’s current Y-series lineup.
That said, there are no confirmed specs just yet. We don’t know what chipset it’ll use, what cameras are planned, or even the screen type. But if Vivo follows the usual Y-series formula, we might see a large display, a 5,000mAh battery, and a simplified design meant to appeal to first-time smartphone buyers or those upgrading from 4G.
What the Earlier Models Offered
Let’s rewind a bit to understand what the older Y-series devices brought to the table:
- Vivo Y31 (4G) had a 6.58-inch FHD+ IPS LCD, 48MP triple camera system, 16MP selfie camera, and Snapdragon 662. It also had a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 5,000mAh battery.
- Vivo Y30 5G, launched globally in 2022, packed a MediaTek Dimensity 700, a slightly smaller 6.51-inch HD+ display, a 50MP + 2MP dual camera setup, and an 8MP selfie shooter. It ran on Ultra Game Mode 2.0 and offered haptic feedback during gaming.
If the Y31 5G wants to stand out, it’ll likely need to improve on these specs—perhaps by bumping up display resolution, offering faster charging, or adding a better camera sensor.
No Launch Date Yet, But It Might Be Close
There’s no confirmed India launch date for the Y31 5G, and Vivo hasn’t officially teased anything yet. But considering the leak and the company’s pattern of follow-ups, an announcement might not be far off.
