Earlier this month, Vivo launched the Y400 5G in India. Now, the company is gearing up to unveil the next-gen Y500 in China. The upcoming device is expected to bring several upgrades over its predecessor, the Y300. Here's all you need to know about the Vivo Y500.
Vivo Y500 Launch Confirmed
Vivo has officially confirmed the arrival of the Y500 through its Weibo account, highlighting that the smartphone will deliver a long-lasting battery. The teaser poster reveals the device's rear design, showcasing a blue colour variant with a centrally placed circular camera module.

While the exact launch date remains unknown, Vivo is set to host an event in China on August 21 for its Vision mixed reality headset. So, it remains to be seen if the brand has any plan to bring the Y500 to the same event.
Vivo Y500 – What to Expect?
The specifications of the Y500 are still under wraps. We expect it could offer some upgrades over the Vivo Y300, which has a 6.77-inch (2392 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display with up to 1800 nits peak brightness. It also supports 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+.
The handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS2.2 storage. The Vivo Y300 also packs a massive 6500mAh battery with 44W fast charging. For optics, there's a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a 2MP depth sensor. Upfront, it opts for an 8MP selfie camera. Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.4, and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
