Xiaomi 12 Pro Price Drop: Buy Flagship Android Smartphone Below ₹60,000 mark?

Within days of Xiaomi launching the 13 Pro, prices of its preceding series, the Xioami 12 Pro, have dropped. With its price cut, the Xiaomi 12 Pro can be considered a serious alternative to the upper mid-range Android smartphones currently. The 12 Pro is available in India.

While the Xiaomi 13 Pro comes with several upgrades, the Xiaomi 12 Pro still stands strong as a worthy, capable, and powerful Android smartphone. It wouldn't be hard for the smartphone to beat many premium devices, in terms of performance, especially after the price drop.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Price Slashed In India

In April last year, when Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 12 Pro, the flagship Android smartphone commanded a price of ₹62,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage space. The top-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage space cost ₹66,999.

After the price cut, the Xiaomi 12 Pro will be available for ₹52,999 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage) and ₹56,999 (12GB RAM + 256GB storage). Purchases made with HDFC Bank cards can earn buyers a ₹3,000 discount.

Moreover, there's an exchange bonus of up to ₹3,000 for the 8GB and 12GB RAM models and Xiaomi or Redmi phone users get an additional ₹5,000 discount. That's a cumulative discount of approx ₹8000, which brings the top-end model below the ₹50,000 mark.

Incidentally, all the listings of the Xiaomi 12 Pro still sport the old prices. That is because the reduced pricing is effective from tomorrow, March 1, across mi.com, Amazon India, and Mi home stores. The discounted price will be applicable at offline stores also.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Specifications, Features

The Xiaomi 12 Pro features a 6.73-inch 2K+ Samsung E5 OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The display has a layer of Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus for protecting it and features an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Buyers get 256GB of internal storage in both models.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 50 MP triple camera setup at the back. It comprises a 50 MP primary camera with a Sony IMX707 sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP 2x telephoto camera. There's a 32 MP camera with an f/2.5 aperture at the front. The 32MP camera is the largest camera configuration on a smartphone in India currently.

Xiaomi has embedded a 4,600mAh battery in the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which supports 120W wired fast charging. The flagship smartphone also supports 50W wireless charging. The device packs quad stereo speakers for immersive sound. Connectivity options on the flagship smartphone include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 AX, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and NFC.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro runs Android 12 out of the box with MIUI 13 custom skin on top. The smartphone has started receiving the MIUII14 OS update.
