Xiaomi 14 Pro Launched with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, HyperOS, Leica Cameras

Xiaomi has officially launched the first smartphones with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Xiaomi 14 series arrives in China with a ton of improvements over the Xiaomi 13 series.

First off, the line-up includes the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, with an 'Ultra' model slated to launch in the first half of 2024. However, our focus will be on the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Before diving into the details about the Xiaomi 14 Pro, here is a brief look at the vanilla Xiaomi 14.

Xiaomi 14 Pro Pricing in China

The Xiaomi 14 Pro price in China starts from CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs 56,900) for the base 12GB/256GB model. Moreover, the handset also comes in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB configurations that will set you back CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs 62,600) and CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs 68,300), respectively.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro comes in Black, Rock Green, and White color options. The Xiaomi 14 Pro also comes in a Titanium Special Edition option. The Xiaomi 14 Pro is already up for pre-order in China, although international availability is yet to be announced.

Xiaomi 14 Pro Specifications

The Xiaomi 14 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with the Adreno 750 GPU. The phone also comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Xiaomi 14 Pro packs a 4880 mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro sports a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 2K resolution (3200 x 1400 pixels). The screen boasts an adaptive 120Hz (1Hz - 120Hz) refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The screen supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and a 1920Hz PWM dimming.

The screen's new C8 luminescent material for enhanced eye protection and an impressive peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The Xiaomi 14 Pro also packs dual-stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The Xiaomi 14 Pro runs the newest HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box, replacing MIUI.

Xiaomi 14 Pro Cameras

For optics, the Xiaomi 14 Pro gets a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP Leica ultra-dynamic main camera that uses a custom Hunter 900 sensor that features a variable aperture (f/1.42 - f/4.0), a 2.4μm large pixel output, and OIS support.

The main camera is paired with a 50 MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, and a 115-degree FOV. Lastly, there's a 50 MP Leica 75mm floating telephoto lens with a 75mm equivalent focal length, and OIS support. The Xiaomi 14 Pro can record 4K video in up to 60fps or 8K video up to 30fps. Lastly, there's a 32 MP selfie snapper up front.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The Xiaomi 14 features Xiaomi Longjing Glass protection on the front and a glossy metal frame.
