Xiaomi 15 Series Launching Next Week: Will be the First to Bring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip to Market
The Xiaomi 15 series is set to make its debut in China next week. The line-up will include the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, although an 'Ultra' variant is slated to launch sometime next year, presumably in the first quarter of 2025.
At the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit 2024, Senior VP Adam Zeng (Zeng Xuezhong) confirmed that the Xiaomi 15 series would be the first smartphones to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Xiaomi 15 Series Launch Date (Expected)
Xiaomi was expected to unveil the 15 series today, October 23, but will likely announce the launch date for its upcoming flagships today as a poster for the phones has gone live on Xiaomi Mall on the company's Chinese website.
The poster currently only highlights Xiaomi's partnership with Leica. Considering both the Honor Magic 7 series and iQOO 13, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, are making their debut on October 30, the Xiaomi 15 series will likely arrive before that on October 28 or 29.
Xiaomi 15 Series Specifications (Expected)
Apart from the Snapdragon chip, the Xiaomi 15 series will also come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Xiaomi 15 is expected to sport a 6.36-inch 1.5K flat LTPO OLED display. The screen will support an adaptive 1Hz - 120Hz refresh rate. The Xiaomi 15 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch Quad Micro Curved LTPO AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate.
The two displays will support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is also expected to pack a larger 6,000 mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless fast charging support. On the other hand, the vanilla Xiaomi 15 could pack a 5,500 mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support.
For optics, the Xiaomi 15 series will feature a trio of 50MP cameras for the main, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses. However, the Xiaomi 15 Pro's will swap a basic telephoto lens for a periscope shooter with greater zooming capabilities. Up front, the Xiaomi 15 series will opt for a 32MP selfie shooter. The two phones will also have an IP68 rating. For the full breakdown of the Xiaomi 15 series, head over to the link.
