Xiaomi 15 Ultra Leaked Poster Suggests February 26 Launch, Hands-On Video Reveals Redesigned Camera

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil the Xiaomi 15 Ultra later this month, according to a leaked promotional poster circulating on Weibo. The image suggests that the official launch will take place in China on February 26 at 7 PM local time. While Xiaomi has yet to confirm the date, the timing aligns with expectations for the company's next premium smartphone.

For the global market, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to be showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, which runs from March 3 to 6 in Barcelona. If the company follows a similar timeline to previous years, international availability could be announced soon after the event.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Could Launch This Month With a 200MP Periscope Lens

Hands-on Video Shows a New Camera Design

A hands-on video of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has surfaced online, offering an early look at its rear design. The biggest visual change appears to be in the camera module, which features a refreshed quad-camera setup, Leica branding, and a pill-shaped LED flash.

Compared to last year's Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the updated design seems to reflect Xiaomi's ongoing collaboration with Leica to refine mobile photography.

A Powerful Camera System With a 200MP Periscope Lens

Xiaomi's Ultra series has consistently focused on advanced imaging capabilities, and the 15 Ultra looks to continue that trend. Leaks suggest that the phone will be equipped with a 50-megapixel LYT-900 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). Alongside it, the quad-camera system is expected to include:

  • A 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultra-wide lens
  • A 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom and macro functionality
  • A 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom

For selfies, the phone may feature a 32-megapixel OmniVision OV32B sensor.

High-Resolution Display and Flagship Performance

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumored to come with a 6.8-inch AMOLED LTPO display with a micro-quad-curved design. It is expected to support 2K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.

Under the hood, the device will likely be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, running Xiaomi's HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. The Chinese variant is expected to offer multiple storage configurations, with options going up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. However, the global version may be limited to a 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model.

Large Battery With Fast Charging

Battery life is another area where Xiaomi seems to be making improvements. Reports suggest that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will house a 6,000mAh battery, which should provide all-day usage even with its power-hungry hardware. The device is also rumored to support 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Global Availability and Pricing Still Unclear

While the launch date for China seems to be set for February 26, there is still no official word on international pricing or availability. With the phone expected to appear at MWC 2025 in early March, more details should become available soon.

Xiaomi's Ultra series has historically been positioned as a premium offering, so pricing will likely reflect its high-end features.
