Xiaomi 16 Complete Specs Leak Ahead of September Launch: 7,000mAh Battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and More
With the Xiaomi 16 series tipped for a late September reveal, we now have what looks like a full spec sheet for the standard model. Reliable tipster Yogesh Brar has shared details that line up with earlier rumors, giving us a clearer picture of where Xiaomi’s base flagship stands this year.
Compact But Powerful Display
The Xiaomi 16 is said to feature a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. That size makes it directly comparable to the compact flagships of the world such as Google's Pixel 10, Samsung's Galaxy S25, and Apple's newest iPhone 17.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Inside
Under the hood, the phone is expected to ship with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, also referred to as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This aligns with earlier reports suggesting that Xiaomi would be among the first to showcase Qualcomm’s newest chip in action.
Triple-Camera Setup
On the back, the Xiaomi 16 could carry three 50MP sensors: a primary OmniVision shooter, an ultra-wide, and a telephoto using Samsung’s JN5 sensor. On the front, there’s reportedly a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.
Big Battery and Fast Charging
Battery capacity is listed at a hefty 7,000mAh — a notable step up compared to last year’s model. Charging speeds remain aggressive, with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.
Software and Extras
The phone will run HyperOS 3 out of the box, Xiaomi’s updated software platform. It also comes with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for faster unlocks and carries IP68/69 certification for dust and water resistance.
Why It Matters
If these leaks hold up, the Xiaomi 16 is shaping up as one of the more balanced flagships this fall — combining a smaller form factor with big battery capacity and Qualcomm’s next-gen chip. The mix of high-end performance and durability features could make it a compelling alternative to Samsung's base S25 or Apple's standard iPhone 17.
