Xiaomi 16 Series Set to Launch This Year – But India Might Miss Out on the Pro Model Again
Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of its Xiaomi 16 series later this year in China, with global markets expected to follow. As per recent IMEI database listings, the company plans to introduce the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro, but there's a catch for Indian consumers-just like the Xiaomi 15 series, the Pro variant seems to be skipping the Indian market.

IMEI Listings Hint at Regional Availability
The GSMA IMEI database recently listed the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro under distinct model numbers, indicating their regional availability. Here's the breakdown:
Xiaomi 16
- 25113PN0EC - China
- 25113PN0EG - Global
- 25113PN0EI - India
Xiaomi 16 Pro
- 2509FPN0BC - China
- 25098PN5AC - China
The listings suggest that while the standard Xiaomi 16 will be available across China, India, and global markets, the Xiaomi 16 Pro remains exclusive to China.
This follows a similar strategy when Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra, but skipped the 15 Pro for India.
Xiaomi 16 Series: Expected Specifications
The Xiaomi 16, codenamed "Nezha," is expected to feature a 6,800mAh battery and support 100W fast charging. It will likely be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, delivering flagship-level performance. Check out our dedicated post for more information.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 16 Pro is rumored to include a 6.85-inch LTPO OLED display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, alongside potential features like satellite connectivity or a ceramic body. However, with its focus remaining on China, Indian users may have to wait for the 16 Ultra model if it launches in the country.
