Xiaomi CEO Confirms New 5G Smartphone Plant For Future Flagships
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced that the company is building a new 5G factory which will develop the upcoming 5G flagship devices. The announcement was made during the 2019 World 5G Conference. According to GSMArena, the factory will be located in the Beijing Economic and Technologic Development Zone. The report suggests that the factory will be finished by December this year.
The report claims that the plant is expected to be spread in 187,000 square meters. This big plant is said to produce around 60 units per minute, which is going to be 60 percent higher than the traditional manufacturing plans.
Besides, the company is also planning to launch at least 10 new 5G-powered smartphones in 2020. The company is contemplating to make the 5G devices familiar like 4G smartphones which are currently available in the market.
The report also suggests that the firm is aiming to launch 5G smartphones in all the price segments from high to low. So we can expect that Xiaomi might launch the 5G powered smartphone in the budget segment as well. The CEO also mentioned that all the Xiaomi smartphone above the price tag of $285 (approx. Rs. 19,950) will be equipped with 5G support.
Currently, Xiaomi already has a smartphone with 5G support like the Mi Mix3 5G and expected the Mi Mix Alpha.
Meanwhile, the company is also planning to launch its Mi Note 10 soon in India. According to reports, the company is said to launch the smartphone with its own MIUI OS. The Mi Note 10 is said to arrive with powerful camera setup with the combination of 108MP primary camera + 12MP with 2X zoom lens + 5MP sensor with 10x hybrid zoom along with OIS support + 20MP wide-angle lens + 2MP macro sensors. Upfront, it will house a 32MP selfie shooter.
According to the reports, the Mi Note 10 is going to be a very expensive smartphone from the company in the Indian smartphone market.
