Xiaomi Debuts Redmi Note 15 Pro and Pro+ in China Featuring 7000mAh Battery and IP69K Durability
Xiaomi has officially pulled the wraps off its new Redmi Note 15 Pro series in China. The lineup includes the Note 15 Pro and Note 15 Pro+, both pushing durability, battery life, and a few firsts for the popular mid-range series.

Two Chips, Two Directions
The Note 15 Pro and Pro+ take different approaches under the hood. The Pro runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 Ultra, paired with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro camera.
The Pro+, on the other hand, is the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. Its camera system is also a step up, with a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main sensor, a 50MP telephoto with 2.5x zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide.
Both phones have a 6.83-inch curved OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and peak brightness of up to 3200 nits. Protection comes via Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass.
Cooling, Durability, and Audio
Xiaomi is talking up cooling and toughness this time. The Pro+ introduces an “ice-sealed circulating cooling pump” with a 5200mm² vapor chamber and additional graphite layers, while both phones carry an unusually long list of dust and water resistance ratings: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
That means they can withstand more than just splashes—they’re rated for high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. Xiaomi says there are 17 structural components that keep the phones airtight, earning TÜV SÜD’s five-star long-term waterproof certification.
On top of that, the fiberglass back panel has been tested against repeated drops on granite, making the series tougher than most mid-range devices. Audio gets a boost too, with symmetrical dual speakers that Xiaomi claims push volume significantly higher than before.
Big Batteries, Faster Charging
Both phones come with a 7000mAh battery. Charging differs: the Pro supports 45W fast charging, while the Pro+ can hit 90W. Reverse charging at 22.5W is supported on both, letting them top up smaller gadgets such as earbuds.
A First for Redmi: Satellite Messaging
One standout is the Note 15 Pro+ Satellite Messaging Edition. This model is Redmi’s first to include Beidou satellite support, which lets you send emergency text messages even without a network connection. It’s a feature slowly making its way from flagships into more mainstream devices.
Pricing and Availability
The Redmi Note 15 Pro starts at 1,499 yuan (around $208), while the Pro+ starts at 1,999 yuan (around $278). The top-end Pro+ Satellite Edition comes in at 2,499 yuan (around $348). Early buyers in China also get a small discount at launch.
Color options include Midnight Black, Cedar White, Sky Blue, and Purple shades.
