Xiaomi Mi 6X’s alleged rear panel photo surfaces online

Xiaomi Mi 6X with a dual camera setup at its rear is believed to come as the successor to the Mi 5X launched last year.

Back in July 2017, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 5X smartphone as a toned down variant of the Mi 5, the flagship smartphone of 2016. As the Mi 5X has turned almost six months old, the rumors and leaks regarding its successor have started surfacing online. Unsurprisingly, the leaks point out at the launch of the Mi 6X and we can expect the device to be unveiled in mid-2018.

Xiaomi Mi 6X’s alleged rear panel photo surfaces online

According to a Weibo post spotted by Slashleaks, the new leak about the Xiaomi Mi 6X shows the rear panel of the smartphone in the form of a photo. The rear panel appears to have cutouts for vertically stacked dual cameras with a LED flash module in the middle of the two lenses. Well, this is not the first time that we are coming across the Xiaomi Mi 6X as an alleged photo that shows the TPU case of the Mi 6X hit the web in the last month.

Both the leaks point out at the presence of dual cameras with a vertical alignment at the top left corner of the smartphone. This is different from the horizontal setup that was seen on the Mi 5X. The leaked image also shows that the LED flash will be placed similarly to what we have seen on the iPhone X.

There appears to be another hole at the center of the device but it appears to be too small to be considered as a fingerprint sensor. The purpose of this hole remains unclear right now. Otherwise, the design of the alleged Mi 6X appears to be similar to that of its predecessor - the Mi 5X. The antenna line design and the curved sides are identical. Also, the rear panel appears to be made of metal.

For now, there is no clarity regarding the specifications of the Mi 6X. However, going by the specs sheet of the Mi 5X, we can expect its sequel to arrive with a bigger display with full-screen design and 18:9 aspect ratio as it is the trend, a more capacious battery, and a powerful battery though not the Snapdragon 835 SoC that was used by the Mi 6.

Xiaomi is yet to confirm the existence of the Mi 6X smartphone. Until there is an official confirmation, we cannot take these leaks serious as these might not be authentic.
