Xiaomi Mi Max 3 full specs hit the web: What to expect
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is believed to be launched in June this year with a full-screen design and 18:9 display just like the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus those were unveiled in December.
Xiaomi is expected to come up with the successor of the Mi Max 2 that was launched last year in the coming months. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has been a part of quite a few rumors and leaks in the past and now the specifications of this upcoming phablet from the Chinese manufacturer have hit the web. From the leaked details, we get to know that the device will have a display similar to those of tablets as far as the dimensions are concerned.

The Mi Max 3 specifications have been let out by a Weibo post via Playfuldroid and it shows that there will be a gigantic 6.99-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio that is becoming commonplace in the recent times. Having said that, it becomes evident that the smartphone will have a full-screen design just like the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus those were launched in the entry-level market segment back in December 2017. Even a previous leak with concept renders of the Mi Max 3 show the full-screen design.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 hardware
On the hardware front, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is believed to make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 SoC under its hood. But there are contradictory reports making the rounds on the internet suggesting the presence of a Snapdragon 660 SoC. The device is likely to be launched in two variants based on the storage and RAM configuration. The leak suggests that one variant will have 3GB RAM and 64GB storage space while the other variant is said to have 4GB RAM and 128GB storage space.
Notably, the Snapdragon 635 SoC is likely the sequel of the Snapdragon 625 SoC and it is said to be made with the 14nm process. The GPU on this chipset is expected to render 20% more powerful performance than its predecessor.
Camera specs remain unclear
The Mi Max 3 specs reveal that there could be a 12MP rear camera snapper at the rear of the smartphone and a 5MP selfie camera at the front. While this is suggested by the leaked specifications, one of the concept videos of the device by the YouTube channel Science and Knowledge points out at the presence of a dual camera setup at the back of the device.

Capacious battery under its hood
Given that the Mi Max 3 has a massive tablet-like display, there should be a capacious battery to keep the lights turned on and this is where the leak makes sense as it reveals that there could be a 5500mAh battery in the device. This battery is believed to support Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology and reverse charging as well. While the leak does not reveal anything about the OS, we can expect the device to be launched with Android Nougat based MIUI 9 out-of-the-box.
June launch likely
The Weibo post also hints that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 might be launched sometime in June this year. The device is expected to be priced at 1,699 yuan (approx. Rs. 17,000) for the base variant.
