Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro AnTuTu test reveals it's a performance powerhouse
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro uses the new Snapdragon 636 which is a high performing chipset and it comes with high-end features that further makes it a powerful 600-tier platform.
Xiaomi finally launched the much-awaited smartphone Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in the market last week. However, looking at the tech world and the fans reaction the Pro variant has managed to attract more attention. Besides this model brought in the usual Redmi Note series flavor along with a new design, chipset, and seemingly upgraded cameras.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro packs in Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 636 chipset based on the latest design architectures and cores. The company has already claimed that the performance will be better and seamless compared to its competitors in the mid-range level.
Having said that, Redmi Note 5 Pro with SD636 has just been tested on AnTuTu and well, the result that it has produced seems pretty impressive.
As such, Redmi Note 5 Pro has managed to gain an overall score of 112649. From this, we can say that the new SoC has made an incremental leap in comparison to the widely-used Snapdragon 625 which has scored 77236 in the same test with the Redmi Note 5.
If we look back, Xiaomi devices that have actually managed to score better were Redmi Note 3 powered by Snapdragon 650 and Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship with Snapdragon 820 chipset. The deviceS had scored 90539 and 128339 respectively on AnTuTu.
Talking about the new device, Redmi Note 5 Pro getting such impressive high score might also be due to Xiaomi's improved and optimized MIUI 9 OS. Xiaomi has already said that the new software has been tuned to deliver the best user experience as well as bring out the best of the hardware.
Apart from that, the new Snapdragon 636 is a high performing chipset. It comes with high-end features that make this a powerful 600-tier platform. It comes with Qualcomm Spectra ISP, Qualcomm Kryo CPU built on ARM Cortex technology, and Snapdragon X12 LTE modem for up to 600 Mbps downlink speeds. Further, the chipset has been designed to support advanced photography, enhanced gaming and it also boasts long battery life and fast LTE speeds for top-tier smartphones and tablet.
In any case, Xiaomi seems to have yet again hit the right spot with its new offering. The Redmi Note 5 Pro will be up for sale on 22 February and it is priced at Rs. 13,999 for 4GB/64GB variant and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB/64GB variant. Meanwhile, you can read our first impressions of the device here.
