Xiaomi stirred the smartphone industry with the launch of the Redmi Note 7 series earlier this year. Primarily, for offering a 48MP dual-camera setup under Rs. 15,000. Both Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7S are known for delivering a premium user experience. Now, Xiaomi has released the latest MIUI 11 update for both smartphones. Following are the details:

Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7s MIUI 11 Update Details

Xiaomi is said to be rolling out the MIUI 11 update for the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7S with MIUI 11.05.0.PFGINXM build number. The firmware update weighs around 712MB in size and is released as an OTA in a phased manner. Therefore, it might take a while for the mass rollout to be completed.

Alternatively, you can check the update manually by following these steps: Settings > About Phone> System Update> Check For Updates. The update brings a slew of features to both handsets along with the October 2019 Android security patch.

As for the new features, the MIUI 11 update brings a design overhaul to the UI, icons and Dynamic Lock Screen effects. The update also introduces a step counter, a floating calculator and Wallpaper Carousel (with personalized lock screen feature).

The Mi file Manager app is also revamped and a new Mi Share feature is added to transfer data between devices. The update improves the system-wide Dark Mode and brings the Mi Go feature with an extreme power-saving mode.

The other features include Nature-inspired notification sounds and a Short Video mode in the camera app that records 15 seconds videos for wallpapers. All these new features are expected to enhance the user experience on both Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7s.
