Xiaomi rolls out Kernel sources for the Mi Mix 2S

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant is known for launching smartphones that are affordable in price yet packs some solid hardware and software features. However, the only department where Xiaomi lacks is releasing regular OS updates or the kernel source releases. Even after releasing an Android One based smartphone which is the MiA1 last year, Xiaomi didn't release the timely update for the device, which is certainly a drawback.

As per some sources from the web, the failure in releasing the timely updates and the Kernel sources ultimately gave the users and developers a reason to complain, as this was the major drawback of the Xiaomi devices. However, it seems like this time the tech giant doesn't want to give any reason to its users and developers to complain about. Xiaomi is keeping up its end of the promise and has already released the Kernel sources for the Mi Mix 2S. The reports further suggest that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is the latest smartphone from the company that complies with GPLv2.

The Mi Mix 2s comes with MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo with the support for Project Treble. The Mi Mix 2s comes with 5.99 inches Capacitive IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2160 pixels screen resolution.
