Xiaomi has launched a slew of smartphones in the recent time. The company has catered both global and Chinese consumers. There have been reports surrounding the Mi 7 launch. And now a new report from Gizmochina indicates another smartphone in the offing.
The Geekbench listing shows a smartphone codenamed 'Valentino' with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 638 SoC. This will also mark the first time where the company will use an SD 638 processor. The device managed to score 1485 on a single-core, while the multi-core result was 5440 points. This seems to impressive considering it's a mid-range device. The Redmi Note 5 Pro in comparison scored 1,332 in single core and 4,631 in multi-core.
As of now, it's hard to determine what is 'Valentino' exactly. But let's hope Xiaomi repeats what it does best i.e. offering good smartphones at a lower price.
Besides, the Redmi S2 also made an appearance on TENAA certification site. However, unlike the OnePlus 6, Redmi S2 comes with images. Two versions of the device, the Xiaomi M1803E6C, and M1803E6T surfaced with same specs.
As per the listing, the device will sport a metal body. It will have a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel alongside a vertically assigned dual camera. The physical keys will be housed on the right side of the device, while the left side will have the SIM card slot.
As for other specifications, the smartphone will flaunt a 5-.99-inch HD+ display with 1440 x 720 resolution. It will be backed by 2/3/4GB of RAM and 16/32/64GB of internal storage respectively. A 64-bit octa-core processor will power the smartphone, probably the Snapdragon 625. On the optics front, a 12MP + 5MP camera setup will be placed on the rear panel. For selfies, we might see a 16MP snapper up front.
Also, a leaked poster suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 7 could see the light of day on May 23. But the company is yet to make an official announcement regarding the launch date of the device. Though the poster could be fake, the device is rumored to be unveiled in the first half of this year.
