NFC supported San Diego smartphone from Orange
San Diego is the latest upcoming smartphone from Orange. This Android phone from the company was in the news for some time now with the code name, Santa Clara. San Diego has got credit as the first ever Intel-equipped smartphone in Europe. NFC (Near Field Communication) support is a highlighting feature of this phone. Leaked pictures suggest that it would be launched in a stylish black frame in the market.
Orange San Diego will feature a 4 inches display screen with 600 x 1024 pixels resolution. The capacitive touch screen adds to the user comfort. You can expect good processing efficiency with Intel Atom Z2460 processor having a clock speed of 1.6GHz. On the graphics side too, the new Orange smartphone will perform decent as it is powered by PowerVR SGX 540 as well. Processing side is quite good with these processors and specs.
Other interesting features with this Orange smartphone include HDMI out capability for connecting to TV and also NFC for good radio communication. NFC is getting popular in UK market and this feature could make this model attractive for business users. You can connect your gadget wirelessly with the standard Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi connectivity options. There is no confirmation on data connectivity options available in this model.
A front end camera and camcorder with the 1920x1080 resolution is the highlight of its camera features. This one also has an 8 megapixels rear camera having features like Image stabilizer and Multi shot options. You can take good quality still images and videos using these high end built-in camera features.
The phone book is expected to support unlimited entries and the messaging options supports predictive text input. The storage facilities of the handset include 16000 MB memory. The phone measures 123 x 63 x 9.9 mm and weighs 117 g.
We were expecting an Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system from the earlier rumours. But the current news is that it will hit the UK market with Android Gingerbread Operating system.
Orange San Diego was announced by this February and is expected to hit the UK smartphone market by this month. You can purchase this Orange handset for price of more than Rs. 16,000/-.
