According to analysts, Nokia has come up with Asha 308 to tap the consumers who are looking for a low priced touchscreen handset. Moreover, it is targeted towards the first time smartphone users.

At the same time, the smartphone arena is flooded with a plethora of challengers including the recent offerings from leading smartphone vendors – Sony, Samsung, Micromax, Karbonn and more.

Have a look at the potential rivals of the Asha 308 smartphone.

Sony Tipo Dual

Sony Tipo Dual with a 3.2 inch scratch-resistant capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 320 pixel resolution, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 800MHz single core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3.2MP rear camera, 2GB internal storage, 512MB RAM and micro SD card supporting up to 32GB expandable memory is a stiff challenger for Nokia Asha 308.

Priced at Rs 10,449, the handset is packed with connectivity features such as Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, 3G, Wi-Fi and micro USB 2.0. Further, the handset is loaded with a 1,500 mAh Li-ion battery with decent battery backup.

Though it is priced higher than the Nokia offering, with almost similar specs, Tipo Dual can pose a hard competition to Asha 308.

Samsung Galaxy Y Duos Lite

Galaxy Y Duos Lite has a 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixel resolution. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and is equipped with an 832MHz processor, 2GB internal memory, 2MP rear camera and micro SD card supporting up to 32GB.

Further, the handset will be packed with connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB, Wi-Fi Hotspot, 3G and Bluetooth. Galaxy Y Duos Lite will have a 1,200 mAh Li-ion battery.

Priced at Rs 6,790, the Galaxy Y Duos Lite smartphone can offer a high competition to the low priced Nokia offering.
