Nokia Asha 501 Dual SIM Hand On Review : Stylish, All Rounder Budget Phone
Verdict
As a budget feature phone, the Nokia Asha 501 does quite a few things and it does them well. The OS is neat, smooth, easy to use and even innovative in some aspects. Battery life is good and will make the phone great for traveling. Texting was not a good experience and we made several errors while typing. The camera is mediocre, but its good enough for the price budget. Call clarity was good and the phone is good for browsing websites optimized for mobiles.
Competitors like Micromax and Samsung are offering Android-based devices in and around the same price budget, allowing their users a huge selection of apps. In comparison, Nokia's app store offers very few options. More ever, it lacks important apps like WhatsApp, which happen to be very, very essential to youngsters these days. So your typical college student might think twice before picking the device up. But fear not, Nokia claims that the WhatsApp is "coming soon."
Overall the phone is a good option for those on a budget as long as you don't mind a small selection of apps. Performance and Battery life are solid, along with good Browsing capabilities. To sum it up, the phone delivers on all its basic offerings very well.
If you're looking for a stylish budget phone that gets all its basics right, then the Nokia Asha 501 is a great option. It will even serve well as a good second phone, given its reliable battery back up and solid feature set.
