Nokia Lumia 1020 Review: A Photographer's First Love
Display
Nokia has given the 1020 has a 4.5 inch screen AMOLED HD display. It has a resolution of 1280x768 and churns out a pixel density of 332 ppi. All in all, it happens to be a very, very sharp screen. Compare it with the iPhone 5, and you'll note that it has a pixel density of 325 ppi. For protection, there's a slab of Gorilla Glass 3 on the display.

For those who find the AMOLED screen oversaturated, there are options in the Lumia colour profiler settings that will allow one to tone things down. There's even a nifty sunlight readability mode that changes the screen's contrast automatically, thereby allowing for great readability and legibility even under direct sunlight.

Specs
The handset runs on a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset with 2 GB RAM. On the connectivity front, it offers 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, micro-USB port, 3.5 mm jack (Dolby enhancements), GPS with voice guided satellite navigation. The handset uses a 2000 mAh battery. There is 32GB of Internal storage, but no microSD card slot for expansion.

Performance
The Lumia 1020 happens to be an agile performer. We were able to run through apps and menus with ease. However, we did encounter some slight lags while we played graphically demanding games. Owing to its light weight form, the Windows Phone OS has never required too much of fire power from handsets. So running basic tasks and performing everyday functions with the Lumia 1020 was a breeze. We were also able to view videos smoothly and perform a host of multimedia functions with ease.

Do go through our benchmark tests below to understand how the handset compares to others.
