|

Powered by the latest version of Windows Phone 8 and including the Nokia Lumia Amber update, Nokia Lumia 625 was unveiled last month by the Finnish giant and now the fast, fun and affordable handset has hit the Indian boundaries. It is currently up for pre orders on the online retail stores Snapdeal at Rs. 1,000.

One can find a dual-core processor inside Lumia 625 clocked to 1.2-GHz which is coupled with 512MB RAM and 8GB ROM (expanded up to 64GB via microSD card). The smartphone features Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon Chip and Adreno 305 graphic and runs on the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 platform like other Lumia handsets.

To talk about camera, there is a 5-mega pixel rear camera with LED Flash light and front facing VGA camera has been placed on the front face of the handset. The device also features new Smart Camera app.

Connectivity options include GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, A-GPS and GLONASS.

Going further, the phone measures 9.3mm thick and weighs 159 grams. There is a 2,000mAh Li Ion battery powering the entire system and claims about 15 hours of talk time over 3G networks.

Nokia Lumia 625 will also come five different colored changeable shells.

Regarding the price, the retailer says that the price of the handset will be disclosed when the phone will launch later this month. On the other hand, guesses are loud, that the handset would be price at Rs. 18,000. However, an educated guess along with the pinch of hint that came from Nokia official allows us to say that it would come around Rs. 15,000 or less.

Nokia must have felt the need of increasing the size of their signature Lumia handset finally. However, talking about the abundance of the larger handsets in the Indian market, it has already come up to the brim. Thus the competition is not as easy as it seems.

Looking at the competition of smartphones in the market, GizBot has come up with the list of handsets that could possibly diminish the worth of Lumia 625 in Indian market. These handsets are Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro, Xolo Play, LG Optimus L9, Micromax Canvas HD A116, Karbonn Titanium S5. All the 5 handsets incorporated in the sliders fall in the same price category. They all also come with the similar display except the Micromax and Karbonn handset. The domestic handsets are relatively lesser priced as well. However, looking at the specs of all the handsets it would rather be a better choice to go for Micromax handset or Xolo Play. Since Micromax is offering a better specs and a larger display compared to the others. Moreover, Micromax and Xolo both come with better processor and is reasonably priced. Thus two devices would definitely be a better choice. Lookin at Lumia 625, it has lower RAM and processor and the only thing it has improved is the display size. However, Dual SIM variant of Lumia 625 would perhaps do a magic on Windows Phone lovers.
