Nokia Will Launch Lumia 1520 in India On December 16: What About Market Availability?

Nokia's next-generation smartphone the Lumia 1520 will see the daylight in mere few days from now. Originally launched at this year's Nokia World 2013, the Finnish manufacturer is keen to bring the 6-inch FHD phablet in India very soon.

Earlier in the day, GizBot received an invitation on the behalf of Nokia India to attend the launch of "the next Big thing" to be unveiled on December 16 in Delhi based event. Will Nokia announce the much acclaimed Lumia 1520 on December 16? Or both Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 at one go? Only time will tell.

However, sources close to GizBot revealed that Nokia will announce only one of the 6-inch Windows Phone 8 running handsets at the press event on December 16. At the same time, it is also obvious because if you go to the Nokia India website, there Lumia 1520 has already got listed under 'Coming Soon' tag.

Our source has also tipped us that the Finnish giant could launch the device somewhere around Rs. 42,000 - Rs 47,000 in the Indian market and has also confirmed that the phone will go official on December 16, followed by retail availability around December 20.

The Lumia 1520, Nokia's first 6-inch FHD phablet, is expected to be launched in India on December 16. The device boasts of powerful inbuilt hardware and majestic built quality.

The Lumia 1520 incorporates a 2.2GHz quad-core processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded via a micro SD card up to 64GB.

There's a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash. The rear-facing camera also supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) feature. Also, a 1.2MP wide-angle front facing camera will be sufficient for long video chat.

The makers have added a 3400mAh battery fitted inside. Other highlighted connectivity features include: NFC, Wi-Fi, 3G, 2G EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS and more.
