Oppo R5 To Launch in India Soon; Expected To Be Priced Below Rs 30,000
Earlier today, Oppo disclosed that they will likely to launch the R5 smartphone in India soon. The Oppo R5, to be priced between Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000, will hit the market on December 2014, the company said Friday.

Looks like Oppo India's Public Relations (PR) cell has already started promoting the device well in advance. That's probably because Oppo R5's biggest contender - the Vivo X5 Max, is scheduled to hit the market onDecember 15. The press event will take place in New Delhi.
Both rival devices claim to be slimmest and thinnest. The Oppo R5 is pretty slim by itself, and then we've seen how thin the Vivo X5 Max is, beating the former handset. That's just 0.1mm slimmer than the OPPO R5.
Both handsets have a similar design as the iPhone 5S, with a brushed aluminum backing and glossy white plastic strips at the top and bottom of the device.
Well, today Oppo indicated that the R5 will be launched in India sometime this month, and not only is it thin, but it's apparently one of the thinnest smartphones you can think off in the world.
The handset comes in at 4.85mm, which again pops up question of how thin is too thin? The Vivo X5 Max, on the other hand, is just 4.75mm thin.
Oppo has created a special cooling element made from liquid-metal and phase-change materials to take heat away from the chipset. The frame of the handset is made of 3D welded aluminum alloy.
First off, the phone has a respectable 5.2-inch AMOLED FHD screen and an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It's a Snapdragon 615 processor. However that 64-bit processing won't be usable until the handset gets updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop from its Android 4.4.4 KitKat mobile OS.
The Oppo N3 maker has included a 13-megapixel IMX214 sensor and an f/2.0 aperture, alongside a 5MP shooter.
Other connectivity options include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G, 2G, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 2000 mAh battery fitted inside.
The Oppo R5 will launch in India in December 2014, although there is no word yet on when it will arrive. As said, the phone will likely to be priced between Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000. In fact, the same can be said about the Vivo X5 Max.
