Moto G4 Plus Review: Priced Well, Lasts Long, Average in Design

Moto G4 Plus has many notable design changes that make it thinner and lighter than the previous generation Moto G smartphones. It measures just 7.9 mm thick and it is pretty light weighing in at 155 grams. The phone is not made of metal, but it has an appealing design for its price.

Great Display

The Moto G4 Plus display is a 5.5-inch panel with an FHD 1080p resolution that is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass coating. This way, the screen is resistant to scratches and damage due to everyday usage. When it comes to the performance, the display is vibrant and crisp and it produces decent viewing angles with a good color reproduction as well.

Better Camera

The camera in the Moto G4 Plus is one of the improved aspects of the smartphone. The device sports a 16 MP main camera at its back with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and professional mode as well. Fast Fingerprint Scanner

There is a front-facing fingerprint scanner on the Moto G4 Plus. The scanner is a square pad that is located in the place of the physical home button. This fingerprint scanner is pretty fast in terms of operation and it is precise as well.

This smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system that boosts the performance by running a pure and clutter-free iteration that resembles pure Android-like experience.

Lack of Front Flash

Its the time of selfies and Motorola has missed on the front-facing flash big time. This will disappoint the selfie enthusiasts as they cannot capture low-light self portraits of good quality.

There's no Home Key

The fingerprint scanner is positioned at the front on the Moto G4 Plus and you might think it to be the home button. However, this is not the case as there is no home button on the smartphone. If you prefer a physical home button, you need to keep this in mind.

Price Verdict

Moto G4 Plus is priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 14,999 for the two storage options and it is exclusive to Amazon India. Given the specs and features of the smartphone, we feel that this pricing is a good one as Motorola has lured many mid-range smartphone buyers in the country.
