Samsung Galaxy S5 Gets Android Lollipop 5.0 Update in India

Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android Lollipop 5.0 updates in the Indian market for the Galaxy S5. This update is available to the user OTA and as well in the Samsung Kies application. This update contains 847MB in size, and needs 3GB of the internal storage while updating.

The Company didn't share any change log about the update, meanwhile some are reporting problems after updating it to the Lollipop 5.0.

It is powered by Octa Core Processor (Quad 1.9GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) + XMM6360 coupled with 2GB of RAM and runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS with the layer of the upgraded version of the TouchWiz UI including a new notification bar. The device uses (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) 2x2 MIMO, USB3.0, BT 4.0(LE) connectivity options.

The IP67 certified handset, as you are already aware, comes powered by a 2,800mAh battery. The device offers 16GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).

Lollipop update comes with the new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI, refreshing notification system. It will also allow the users to see the notification in the lock screen and they will get displayed like banners on the top of the screen.
There is a do-not-disturb feature added to the notification bar.

This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian which tracks the battery consumption by an application.
