Sony Xperia J Android ICS smartphone preview

Rumours on the yet to be released Sony ST62i has taken new dimensions. The latest rumour is that Sony ST62i has changed its name to Sony Xperia J. There is also some information regarding the specifications of the device. As per the sources, this smartphone is expected to make use of the Android ICS operating system. It is believed that the company has opted for this operating system taking in to context its increased customization capabilities.

Sony Xperia J smartphone will feature a WVGA touch screen display of 4 inches that is capable of giving good multimedia experience. This smartphone is also expected to make use of 1 GHz MSM7627A single core Scorpion processor that is expected to provide better computing capabilities. The device will be released in the mid-range handset category that is designed targeting both the lower-end and higher-end mobile phone customers. There is also no information as per the sources regarding any update to the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Pricing of this smartphone is not yet confirmed. As per the sources, customers can expect this yet to be released Sony Xperia J smartphone to be released alongside Sony Xperia SL. Sony Xperia SL is due to be released by the third quarter of this year. Since Sony Xperia J is a mid-range smartphone, users can expect dual camera functionality that includes the presence of front facing camera and rear camera. Users can also expect standard messaging options such as SMS, MMS, and E-mail. As per the reports, this smartphone will have a standard lithium-ion battery. However, we don’t have exact information on the talk time and standby time of this new mid range phone.
