Sony Xperia U Hands-on Review

Connectivity & Apps

In terms of connectivity, Xperia U comes packed with features including Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, in-built GPS and micro USB 2.0. The Xperia U lacks NFC capability, but the USB on-the-go support makes for the lack of NFC.

Further, micro USB port without the protective cover is on the list spine and the power/lock, volume rocker and camera shutter keys are on the right spine. The audio jack and secondary camera for recording voice in videos is at the top and the bottom is bare with the primary microphone pinhole.

Speaking of the browsing experience, the browser's interface is quite simple with excellent and smooth pinch to zoom, double tap and text re-flow features.

One of the best features in the web browser is the full Flash 11 support and smooth playback of YouTube videos without any lag.

Also, the smartphone is preloaded with Google Voice Search, Google Talk with video chat, Google Mail, Google Calendar, Google Gallery 3D and Google Maps with Street View and Latitude. Also, the Xperia U is fully Facebook integrated and features the Timescape UI.
