Sony Xperia U Hands-on Review
Camera
Xperia U has a 5MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, 16x digital zoom, 720p HD video recording, 3D sweep panorama and face detection features. Also, the handset has a VGA front camera for video calling.
The camera is good for day time image capturing, but it is not one of the best for low-light or night photography. To prove that, I captured shots while moving at a speed of 60 km/h and the photos appear free from blur. Below is a sample of the same.
Moreover, the 3D sweep panorama feature of the camera was used to capture a 3D image/video. The resulting panoramic photo can be viewed in 2D or 3D. When viewed on a 3D compatible LED TV, the 3D effect was awesome.
Also, videos recorded from the handset were just fine, reminding that it was a budget smartphone after all. Further, the phone also features a front-facing camera of 0.7 megapixels, again a budget feature spec.
