Sony Xperia Z Ultra Spotted On Sony India Site As Coming Soon And Saholic Hints July 31 Launch

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra, which was announced earlier in the week, could be announced in India soon. Online retailer Saholic is now showing the device under coming soon products. The phone is expected to be announced on July 31, as per the retailer.

While, the Xperia Z Ultra has been tagged as "Coming Soon ", if one explore Sony Mobile India website. During the unveiling of Xperia Z U at Mobile Asia Expo, Sony clearly stated that the phone will be launched in China, Indonesia and Singapore in July and August. The device will hit Europe in September.

Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia marketing, told the BBC: "Southeast Asia is the key market for the product because the trend towards large-screened smartphone devices is stronger there".

Is that mean Sony is planning to announce the Xperia Z U around August? There are chances to see the device in India, hopefully soon.

Recently, Sony India was quoted as saying "Primary strategy is to increase penetration in the mobile phone market because we are a late comer." The makers behind PlayStation 4 see mobile phones as "next most emerging category".

Sony's latest high-end handset - the Xperia Z is available at Rs. 38,790 (as per Sony India website) in the Indian market. The company is committed to spend Rs. 300 crore on marketing Xperia smartphone in FY13 alone. Bollywood Actor Katrina Kaif is the current brand ambassador for Sony Xperia.

The Xperia Z Ultra is the upcoming flagship handset from Sony. There are chances to see the smartphone in India around August. The phone packs a 6.4-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory ( expandable memory ), Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 3G, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, NFC, an 8-mega pixel rear facing camera along with 2-mega pixel camera on front, and lastly 3,000mAh Li Ion battery.

It also features super responsive display, which can be operated with a pen or even pencil works effortlessly. The Xperia Z Ultra is IP55 and IP58 certified making the phone water and dustproof. It's the word's slimmest Full HD smartphone, as per Sony. It measures 6.5mm in terms of thickness and weighs 212grams. GizBot expect the phone is expected to be price at Rs. 42,990.
