We have been talking about the arrival of wearable devices for quite long. Samsung, Sony and LG are some of the selected bunch of manufacturers producing the coming of wearable gadgets. Although they claimed to have crack the code, but little has been done to address consumers' issues.
Smartwatches are the most common form of wearable tech. In fact, a lot has been written and predicted about the future of intelligent watch. The wearable gadgets are being received really well, particularly in the U.S and Europe. But hardly here in India people are talking about the era of wearable gadgets.
In this untested market, there are many unanswered questions that need to be answered, including the retail price and concerns for long term usage. While players like Samsung and Sony are selling their respective wearable devices at premium, a little known Indian company Spice Mobiles has managed to produce a Rs. 3,999 intelligent watch.
The Smart Pulse is an ordinary looking smart watch designed and marketed by India-based Spice Mobility. If we ignore the design for a second - the best part of the watch is its ability to make a call without having to connect with a companion smart phone. Plus it does support dual-SIM connection, microSD card slot and a camera, too.
We've had a change to explore the device recently. Here's our quick verdict on the same. Dive in!

Spice Smart Pulse - Form Factor, Design, Display
From a design perspective, the Spice-made smart watch is an average affair. This plastic made watch will remind you of the first generation Samsung Galaxy Gear. There's the same glossy metallic exterior to give more luxurious look.
Though, in this case, the material is plastic not pure metallic. The straps are removable via a pin underneath, which means you can replace them with the yellow and blue colored wrist bands.
The watch weighs in at 55g and doesn't feel heavy to wear through the day. Talking about the aesthetics, the square shaped watch has glossy silver and faux bezel with a power button and the USBV 2.0 port on the right-hand side and a camera with flash on the left.
Underneath the display, you'll find the standard looking three-way capacitive buttons for easy navigation. The device also has regular speakers at the top of the screen and the microphone down bottom of the screen.
The watch is slightly on the chunky side but it still feels nice and sturdy. But with a Rs. 3,990 price tag, it is hard to ignore this product completely.
The Spice Smart Pulse has a 1.6-inch display having a resolution of 320 x 240-pixel resolution. It's a nice display without any doubt. When it comes to viewing angles, the device hardly struggles.
The screen is sharp and vivid in nature. Moreover, the display is responsive to touch. Since we travel a lot, we have managed to check how the display performed under direct sunlight. Display outdoor visibility seemed to outrank a budget phone- what else you can expect from a Rs. 3,999 priced smart watch.
