TAG Heuer the renowned watch manufacturer entered the smartphone market with its Link handset in 2011. Later, in the Q1 of this year, it announced the Racer smartphone, which is lightweight and shockproof. Moreover, the Racer is by the inspired by TAG Heuer heritage in GT cars and Formula 1.
Now, Tag Heuer has opened the pre-orders for four variants of its luxury smartphone – Racer, which is based on Android OS.
Commenting on the launch of the smartphone, Serge Simon, General Manager, Atelier Haute Communication was quoted saying, “We wanted our watch customers, many of whom are young high-income individuals, to look at the mobile phones as well. Mobile phone is the hottest accessory after watches and both the categories are growing in India.”
Of these four models of the smartphone, the Prestige Gold is the most expensive one, which is encrusted using Rose gold and carbon fiber while the Racing Carbon has a carbon fiber body. Night Racer variant of the Tag Heuer smartphone has a black stainless steel body while the least expensive Sport Classic has a brushed stainless steel body for added strength.
The Racer smartphone is equipped with 1GHz processor, 3.5 inch display, 5MP rear camera with autofocus and VGA video front camera.
Further, the luxury handset runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and features a unique 3D interface. Tag Heuer has opened the pre-orders for the Racer smartphone. To order one, the consumers have to register on this link.
On the pricing front, Tag Heuer has priced the Racer Prestige Gold at Rs 4,55,000, Racing Carbon at Rs 3,15,000, Night Racer at Rs 2,51,000 and Sport Classic at Rs. 2,06,000.
