Videocon A42 and A53 Launched Online with Android Jelly Bean, 3G and Dual SIM Support

Among all the handsets that are being launched in India currently, most of them are coming from the domestic manufacturers. In fact, growing mobile phone manufacturers are launching more devices compared to other international brands. However, almost all the handsets fall in the same mid range price category or budget friendly section.

Videocon A42 and A53 Launched Online with Android Jelly Bean and 3G

Videocon has also recently launched their two mid range handsets called Videocon A42 and A53. However, there is no confirmation on the price of the A42 smartphone but speculations suggest that the handset will be priced somewhere around Rs. 6,500 while the other one A53 is already selling online at Rs. 10,990.

Here is a brief rundown on the specs of the two handset individually:

Videocon A42

Videocon A42 smartphone comes packed with a 4.5 inch FWVGA Capacitive Multi touch screen display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 Ghz Dual Core processor which comes coupled with 512 MB RAM. The A42 ruins on powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. Videocon A42 features 5MP primary camera with Flash and 1.3MP front facing camera.

When it comes to connectivity, besides being a dual SIM handset, it has Bluetooth, MicroUSB, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and also 3G. There is a 4 GB internal storage capacity which can be further enhanced with a 32 GB extra storage via microSD card. Eventually the A42 is powered by a 1700 mAh Li-Ion battery. According to the official Videocon website, the smartphone will come in Black & White Chrome color variant.

Videocon A53

Othe the other hand, A53 which is evidently priced a bit higher than the A42, comes with a 5.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display which offers a qHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The large Videocon A53 is powered bya 1.2 GHz dual core processor with a support of 1 GB RAM which is quite impressive. There is Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS running in the system.

Looking at the camera front, the phablet comes 8 MP rear camera with autofocus and 2MP front facing camera is also fitted at the front face of the device. Connectivity options include, GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and microUSB. Additionally there is Dual SIM, GSM + GSM, (Dual Standby) support as well. The handset also houses a similar 4GB internal storage capacity which is also expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Eventually the handset is powered by a 1800 mAh battery.

Competition

Videocon A42 and A53 is likely to come against Micromax and Karbonn phablet as most of the specs and price of the handsets match well. Moreover, since devices under price range of Rs. 7,000 has already been overpopulated, more competition will be heading towards the Rs. 10,000 price point. Perhaps among other, devices like Karbonn S5 Titanium, LG Optimus L5 Dual E615, Intex Aqua Wonder Quad Core, Micromax Canvas 2 Plus A110Q will be against the A53 while A42 will face against Lava Iris 405, Karbonn Smart A26, Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo S5312, Micromax Canvas Lite A92, LG Optimus L3 2.
