Vivo X5 Max Announced As The World’s Slimmest Smartphone
Vivo has officially launched its latest flagship model, the X5 Max. The X5 Max is an ultra-thin smartphone that measures just 4.75mm. The Vivo X5 Max is now officially "the world's slimmest smartphone".
Vivo has been behind the so-called popular smartphone makers in China for a long time, but it appears that the newly launched X5 Max may help the brand to fast catching up to its arch rivals.

The Vivo X5 Max sports a 5.5" Super AMOLED 1080p resolution. Under the hood is a 1.7 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 and 1.0 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 64-bit CPU and 2GB of RAM. The ROM stands at 16GB. Despite being so slim, the phone does allow you to expand the internal memory via a microSD card a lot. Notably, it also has dual SIM slots.
In the imaging department, you get to see a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with Sony IMX214 sensor at the back along with an LED flash. Also, there's a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies.
Unlike its arch rivals in the same segment, the X5 Max sports a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a good sign. The X5 Max runs Android 4.4.4-based Funtouch OS 2.0.
SIM free pricing details were announced, with the X5 Max coming in at $486 or Rs. 29, 646. The handset will go on sale on December 22 in China.
Vivo X5 Max Coming To India Soon
Apparently, Vivo will announce the X5 Max in India on December 15. Although Vivo already indicated the X5 Max to make its Indian debut next week, the overall details about the product and especially its pricing have been kept a secret.
Given the features and expected price, the Vivo X5 Max will compete against the likes of HTC Desire 820, Gionee Elife S5.1 and Oppo R5, among others.
