Xiaomi has just sent out invitation for an upcoming event on January 28, 2015. The tech giant just passed out media invitations to the special event, where it will launch the much-awaited Mi4.

The high-end handset was rumoured to make its Indian debut in December last year, though it never made it to the country during the speculated time frame. The company had previewed the Mi4 for the Indian media in the beginning of last year.

It was no big secret that the Xiaomi Mi4 will most likely debut this month, but now more evidence bolsters the claim of a January 28 unveiling in a New Delhi-based event.

The Mi 4 is going to be a real Android powerhouse, boasting top-of-the-line specs and features that will allow it to compete against the likes of OnePlus One and Samsung's Galaxy A5.

While nothing is official so far regarding the Mi4's retail price is concerned, it's being speculated that the device could be priced below Rs. 15,000 price mark, making it the most economically priced smartphone with 3GB RAM in India.

Based on rumours so far, the 16GB variant might be priced around Rs. 14,999, while the 64GB version could cost close to Rs. 18,999. It's all in the rumour state for now, but the smartphone will most likely be the star attraction in coming days to come.

As far as its specs are concerned, the Mi4 is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and a 3080mAh battery fitted inside. The device also comes with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. The handset sports a 5-inch FHD display and will run Xiaomi's MIUI 6.

The Mi4 will likely to be made available on Flipkart as an exclusive launch, just like the company's previous devices.
