Bluetooth technology pioneer Bluetrek has received a shot in the arm by receiving two prestigious 2012 Design and Engineering Awards instituted by International CES Innovations. These awards are in the category of Wireless Handset Accessories for two products – Carbon which is the first Bluetooth headset in the world made of carbon fibre, and Speaky Bluetooth car speakerphone.
Carbon fibre is an incredibly light but super strong material that has been extensively used in the aircraft and motor racing industry for creating chassis and bodywork that are stronger but lighter too for facilitating rigidity at higher speeds. Bluetrek has brought this technology for the first time into consumer electronics, particularly headsets.
Carbon Bluetooth headset from Bluetrek weighs only 5.9 grams and, since it’s made of carbon fiber, is incredibly strong as well. But that isn’t the only innovation onboard – it also features a technology patented by Bluetrek which is located in the microphone stem that facilitates clear conversations and extended talk time. Along with the convenience of Bluetooth 3.0 compliancy, there is also the really short connection time. The other advantage is that it can be worn by the user for quite long periods of time without experiencing discomfort. It attracts in the looks department too.
Speaky is a mobile Bluetooth speakerphone that enables hands-free usage in the car. It looks cool too with pink or black being the available colors, and facilitates crystal clear communication through the cell phone. It can also be used for efficient and high quality music streaming.
True to its name, Speaky actually talks to the user and answers calls when pushed in its ‘belly’ portion. It has a really user-friendly interface so that users don’t get distracted from their driving as they make or answer phone calls. Another interesting aspect is that Speaky can turn itself off or on automatically as the user exits or enters the car. When it is time to recharge it, the Bluetooth speakerphone talks and gives reminders.
Both these groundbreaking products are priced at around Rs. 3,500 each and are available directly from Bluetrek’s official website or through online stores such as Buy.com and Amazon.com though it is not clear at the moment whether these will be shipped to India.
