Bose Corporation has been doing extensive research in field of sound and speaker design has brought about many innovative products into the market. Bose has quite a line up of cutting edge patents under their name and the technology has been integrated onto their line of speakers and headphones.

Active noise canceling was introduced into Bose headphones starting from the first few models of the QuietComfort headphones some years ago. Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones carry that legacy and are mainly intended for travelers who like to enjoy smooth disturbance free music while traveling. Noise canceling headphones has the advantage that good quality music can be enjoyed without the need for turning up the volume to very high levels. The device comes in a black and silver color combination. Soft leather padding is provided in both the ear cups as well as for the top band that gives it a very luxurious look and feel. The soft leather padding offers quite a snug fit and it also cushions the ears so there won’t be any disturbance even after prolonged hours of listening.

The carrying case for the Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones has hard interiors but the exterior feels very smooth and it also has a flexible pocket in the rear. A nylon loop is provided on the top for ease of carrying it around. The device uses a single audio cable that runs down to the headphone jack. The headphone houses a two position switch which has two adjustments hi and lo. Hi can be used for devices like ipad/iphone and lo can be used for devices producing higher sound output.

The sound quality of Bose QuietComfort 15 headphone is very impressive. The low, mid and high ends are good and the mid bass has a striking deepness to it. The sound fidelity is extremely high. The treble is also crisp and clear. The active noise cancellation feature works as far as the battery in the device works. It has integrated noise sampling microphones in its headset that recognizes external noise and takes remedial measures to cancel them off .The noise seal offered by the cushioned ear pads and the noise cancellation technology together ensures that no other ambient noise gets in the way. So whether you are sitting in a quite room or traveling through a busy street the sound experience that you get from the headphones remain the same.

The over all headphone dimensions are 19.1cm x15.2 cm x 3.8 cm. The device weighs just about 4.90z or 140 grams. The gadget works using a single AAA battery and a new battery will last for up to 35 hours. One notable thing is that once the battery juice goes out the headphone wont work. Unlike conventional headphones Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones need a battery or else it blocks out audio completely. The good thing is that the device takes in standard batteries so even if the battery juice go out you can quickly change it for a new one provided you have access to it.

Bose QuietComfort 15 comes with a price tag of around Rs.15, 000/- in India which is a bit expensive for a headphone but considering the brand value and the technology they have integrated into them it is understandable.
