IFA 2012: Sony Unveils ES Series, SRS-BTM8 handbag speaker With NFC

Sony announced its brand new ‘ES’ range of speakers. A two part enclosure construction is used in SS-NA2ES speakers similar to its predecessor models. The equipment arrives with 2 separate enclosures. One enclosure accommodates the woofer and the other one accommodates the mid range and tweeter. Sony has designed the system to ensure that the sound vibration doesn’t spill over from one speaker to the other. This set up also ensures better sound clarity. 

Apart from the SS-NA2ES floor standing speaker, the ES series also include SS-NA5ES bookshelf speaker, SS-NA8ES centre speaker and SS-NA9ES Sub-woofer. 

Sony has used I-Array system in the development of speakers in this new ES series. I-Array system features a single main soft dome type tweeter supported by 2 smaller ones. As the speakers set uses 3 tweeters instead of the usual system of using a single tweeter, the device is capable of reproducing a higher frequency sound across a wider field. This will produce sound patterns which are more natural.
