    iHome is all set to start shipping iW2 air play speakers by the first week of April. The price of this new product would come around Rs. 10,000/-.

    Some of the features of iW2 wireless speaker system include:

    • Flat oval shape

    • A USB port

    • Reson8 speaker chambers

    • An aux-in jack for other audio sources

    • SRS WOW HD audio processing

    • Built-in Wi-Fi

    • IR remote

    • An included universal AC adaptor

    • Music playback
     

    The price of iW2 is about 25% lower than that compared with the previous version iW1. In many of the specifications, iW2 is very much similar to that of iW1 except the fact that iW2 does not possess a built-in rechargeable battery as iW1 have. The functionality of the built in battery is replaced by an AC adapter in iW2 which comes along with a remote controller.

    iHome also publicizes the fact that various devices including iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, etc can be charged using iW2. This is achieved by connecting these devices to the USB port on the back of iW2. One can also charge the Apple mobile device using iW2 with the standard iOS charging or synching cable. iOS devices can also be connected to iW2 so as to enjoy music play back facility also. These gadgets are connected through the USB port as there is no dock provided in iW2.

    IW2 has been ranked the second position to possess the proprietary AirPlay wireless streaming technology of Apple after iW1. This advanced technology enables the users to effortlessly link iTunes music library to the speaker from anyplace.

    Furthermore, iW2 has a minimalist design with dimension 5.83 X 10.52 X 3.03 inches (HWD). Its simple design, size and wireless nature makes it highly portable to be used anywhere the users wish to.

     

    Presently, iHome is on the next step to bring out iW3 and iW4 AirPlay models. Both these models are also expected to be priced around the same as iW2. The music lovers can expect these 2 models to be out by this spring itself.
