Nokia
Nokia has partnered with Harman’s JBL brand for releasing NFC-enabled MD-PlayUp Portable speakers. Wireless consumer audio technologies will be designed and developed exclusively for Nokia’s Lumia range of devices. This range of speakers could be connected with the Lumia devices through Bluetooth technology which is applicable across all devices belonging to the Nokia Lumia range.
The speakers can also be connected through NFC with the next generation of Lumia phones to be powered by Windows 8 operating system. As part of this collaborative partnership, Nokia along with JBL displayed NFC-enabled MD-PlayUp Portable speakers during the IFA event in Berlin, Germany.
Features
NFC-enabled MD-PlayUp Portable speakers are expected to feature a host of advanced features and specifications. The speakers are designed for both outdoor and indoor use with a maximum output of 89dB. The speakers can be connected to any computer or MP3 player using the standard 3.5mm audio jack. Better audio output is assured with these speakers.
Design and Colors
This range of PlayUp Portable speakers features an attractive and impressive design. The speaker’s design resembles that of Nokia Play 360 Wireless speakers. These speakers will be available in cyan, black, white and bright yellow colors. The speakers are made up of double-shot plastic for enhanced durability.
The product uses a standard removable battery capable of providing a maximum of 10 hours of uninterrupted music listening experience for its users. The accessories that come as a part of the package include a carrying pouch and a MicroUSB charger.
Hans Henrik Lund, Vice President and head of Nokia Gear was stated as saying, “The JBL PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker for Nokia is testimony to our long-term strategy of working with the Industry’s best to create unbeatable products for consumers.” He also stated, “With our joint passion for innovation and technology, Nokia and JBL have created a portable speaker for people who really love music and take it with them wherever they go.”
Pricing and Availability
JBL PlayUp Portable speakers are expected to be made available by Nokia before the end of this year. The pricing of PlayUp Portable speakers is expected to be somewhere around Rs. 11,000.
