A number of super cool speakers, sound systems and new technologies of music enhancement devices are showing up each year. While everybody talks about the recently released iHome iW1, Pioneer is trying to grab people’s attention for their own cool new technology – Duo slimline wireless AirPlay multi-room systems of Pioneer airplay systems named X-SMC3-K and X-SMC5-K.
Pioneer has been adopting Apple Airplay in their products for some time. These new music tap systems of Pioneer music systems will definitely amaze you with its features. The coolest is their built in WiFi compatibility which supports not only DLNA connectivity but also Apple AirPlay streaming. It also supports VTuner Internet Radio and Blue tooth streaming (which unfortunately requires an additional adapter). You might be relieved to hear that these Pioneer music systems also come with traditional iPod/iPhone docking stations; but iPad docking isn’t supported by Pioneer airplay. Top model X-SMC5-K also includes a DVD player equipped with an HDMI out which can be connected to an HD TV.
If you are thinking about the audibility and the music enhancement features, then the Pioneer AirPlay systems will absolutely rock the joint with their two channel Digital Amplifier. The amplifier empowers the dual full range drivers with 2X 20W RMS output of pure awesome power. For your comfort, a 2.5 inch sleek LCD full colour display is also provided at the front displaying all details about the tracks/media. The warranty terms for these awesome Pioneer airplay speaker systems with multiroom airplay are quite disappointing as Pioneer offers only 1 year warranty while most other brands offer two years.
Apart from Internet Radio, FM Radio is also supported. X-SMC3-K also includes 4 passive radiators while the X-SMC5-K has only 2 passive radiators. Pioneer X-SMC5-K and the X-SMC3-K wireless multiroom AirPlay Sound Systems measure the same in dimensions which is 520.4 x 218.3 x 155.6 millimetres. The latter dominates in weight; it weighs about 3.6 kg while the X-SMC5-K is lighter at about 2 kgs. Both the Pioneer airplay sound systems come with full function remote controls which let the user edit music, display settings and make desirable changes in audio equalisations.
X-SMC5-K is pretty cool in looks compared with its Black Aluminium Finish. Pioneer X-SMC3-K consumes about 23W of power while it’s in use and 0.5W in standby mode. The Pioneer X-SMC5-K requires about 220/240V AC power of 50/60 Hz frequencies. The 3.5 mm audio jack lets the users have a wonderful experience with headphones. The Pioneer airplay sound systems are likely to appear for sale in the month of October.
Of the new Pioneer music systems, X-SMC3-K is expected to have a price of Rs 19,500/- approximately in India while top model Pioneer X-SMC5-K will be priced around Rs 22,000/- in India.
