Oppo Reno2 z: Design

Along with the Oppo Reno2, the company has also introduced the Oppo Reno2 z in India, which is the most affordable Reno smartphone till date. Just like the 2, the Reno 2z has a premium all-glass design with a quad-camera setup at the back. The smartphone has a 6.53-inch AMOLED display at the front with an in-display fingerprint sensor. As the phone incorporates a pop-up selfie camera technology, the device maintains an almost bezel-less display, offering higher screen to body ratio.

Oppo Reno2 z: Hardware Performance

The Oppo Reno2 z is one of the first devices to launch in the country with the MediaTek Helio P90 SoC, which is the second most powerful chipset from the company right after the Helio P90T that powers the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The chipset can handle games like PUBG at the highest graphics settings without any issue. However, as of now, there is no information on the support for the Fortnite. It can also handle usual day-to-day tasks without much of a fuss.

Oppo Reno2 z: Camera Performance

The Oppo Reno2 z also packs in a quad-camera setup, just like the Reno 2. However, the Reno2 z has a slightly different camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Besides, the phone has a 16MP selfie camera that supports 1080p video recording and face unlock. As per the camera features are concerned, the device offers 4K and slow-motion video recording. Similarly, the smartphone also supports depth-based portrait mode, thanks to the dedicated 2MP depth sensor. However, the device does not offer optical zooming capability.

Oppo Reno2 z: Price To Specs Ratio

The Oppo Reno2 z retails for Rs. 29,990, making it the most affordable Reno smartphone in the country. However, it is still expensive compared to the contemporaries from Realme and Xiaomi with a similar price tag. The Oppo Reno2 z is one of the best-looking smartphones available under Rs. 30,000 and the phone also come with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, which should be good enough for most of the day-to-day tasks and even hardcore gamers should not face any issue with respect to RAM or storage.

Oppo Reno2 z: Important Features/Highlights

As mentioned before, the Oppo Reno2 z is one of the best-looking smartphones under Rs. 30,000 price tag. Just like the standard model, the Reno2 z also comes with a 4000 mAh battery that can offer at least a day of battery life without any issue. The phone supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging and it also has dual SIM card slots with support for active dual LTE at all the time. The smartphone also retains the 3.55mm headphone jack as well.

Oppo Reno2 z: Verdict

The Oppo Reno2 z is for those who might feel that the Oppo Reno2 is a bit expensive. However, it also has some caveats, as the phone misses out on a dedicated telephoto lens. If you are looking for a good looking smartphone and does not want to spend more than Rs.30,000, then, the Oppo Reno2 z could be the right device.

How do we rate a Device?

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.

So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.

Camera

Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.

Battery

Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.

Display

The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.

Value for Money

A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.

Performance

This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
