Amazon Joins Forces With Citizen For Alexa-Powered Echo Wall Clock
Amazon's voice assistant Alexa is now compatible with hundreds of gadgets. Now, Amazon and Citizen are partnering to develop a new line of wall clocks that will have Alexa voice support. The new wall clocks will be a classy retake on the existing Echo Wall Clocks in the market, reports say.

Amazon Citizen Echo Wall Clock: Features
The new line of Citizen wall clocks is going to be part of the 'Works with Alexa' program just like the Echo Wall Clock. But this means that the new batch of wall clocks will not feature Alexa hardware found in other gadgets like speakers or microphones.
Instead, the wall clocks will simply augment an existing Alexa-powered smart speaker and serve as a display. The new Citizen devices enabled with Alexa will use a ring of lights around the dial to highlight the timers.
Amazon Citizen Echo Wall Clock: Price, Availability
Reports say that the Citizen Smart Clock is expected to come in two designs. One will feature a metal framework for the clock and will cost $79.99 (approximately Rs. 5,655). The second will have a wooden frame and is priced at $89.99 (roughly 6,360). In comparison, the Amazon Echo Wall Clock costs $29.99 (around Rs. 2,120).
Considering that Citizen is a popular watch and accessories brand worldwide, the $80-$90 price tag is on par with other wall clocks designed by the company. Other features of the Citizen Smart Clocks include the four C-type batteries. In contrast, Citizen wristwatches use solar-powered Eco-Drive movements that don't require battery replacements.
That's not all. Amazon could likely be working with Citizen for other offerings apart from the Echo Wall Clock. An FCC filing indicated that Amazon could be working on a Mickey Mouse-styled clock, as well. For now, the Citizen wall clock is available in Amazon (the metal frame version). The wooden clock can be bought on Wayfair, Overstock, Hayneedle, and other select retailers.
